The short answer: A normal free T4 level is roughly 0.8 to 1.8 ng/dL, though exact lab cutoffs vary slightly. Free T4 measures the unbound, active form of thyroxine available to tissues, and it is almost always read together with TSH rather than alone, since the two can point to different types of thyroid conditions depending on the pattern.

What Free tells you
