The short answer: LH typically runs between about 1.5 and 12.5 mIU/mL outside of the sharp mid-cycle surge that women experience just before ovulation, when it can spike considerably higher for a day or two. In men, LH signals the testes to produce testosterone, while in women it triggers ovulation, so like FSH, its normal range depends heavily on sex, age, and — in women — exactly where in the cycle the sample was drawn.
